Add Session

Session Details Screen

The Session screen can be used to add and edit fishing Sessions that belong to you.  The latitude and longitude are automatically entered from the position you clicked on the map when adding a new Session.  On the details tab you must enter a name and start date before you can enter any catch or weather information.  You may add up to five JPEG images per session (at this time) and images must be below 500 KB in size.  Browse for an image and type in a title name. Then press the Add Image button to upload the image to the Session.  After the image has been uploaded a thumbnail will appear on the screen.  Clicking on a thumbnail image will show the full size image in a new window.

Session Weather & Tides Screen

Weather observations for all Australian Bureau of Meteorology stations are downloaded every hour and stored for one month.   This allows exact weather conditions to be retrieved for the nearest weather station to your fishing Session.  Click on the Weather button to retrieve the weather for the date(s) entered and details will be inserted automatically into the appropriate fields.

Tides are automatically calculated if your fishing session is within 15km of a registered tide station.  At this time there are hundreds of tidal stations registered for Australia but not all your fishing sessions may be covered.  If tides cannot be calculated automatically because of the location, then please notify Fishing Solutions and a new tide station can be added for that area.

Session Messages

Messages can be left by any users for any session that is public.  This screen alows other users to ask questions and interact with the owner of the Session similar to how a forum works.  When you create a new session, by default the option to be notified via email when a message has been left will be selected.

6. Clubs

Clubs can feel safe in using Fishing Solutions knowing that only users that are associated with their club can see the sessions that are entered.   If you want to become a club member then you can send a request to the club creator by clicking on the Request Membership button on the Club details page.  An email will be sent to the club creator with instructions on how to accept your request.

Associating a user with a club gives that user permission to find all Sessions marked 'club only' for their club when searching.

Users that are not associated with a club cannot find any Sessions that have been marked 'club only' or 'private' when searching.
